Choral Crossroads 2013 - Cyprus

Main Organiser: Epilogi

27 - 30 September 2013

The 2nd Euro-Mediterranean Youth Choral Fair “Choral Crossroads 2013 – Singing the bridges II” is a four-day project that will bring together at least five choirs and vocal ensembles from European and Arab countries, with over 200 participants, through a combination of singing events, workshops, and presentations. This unique festival will focus on Euro-Arab and cross-Mediterranean dialogue, friendship, collaboration and peace. Each of the visiting choirs will be an Ambassador of its culture, and will present and share it with its counterparts.

With over 200 participants and Ellerhein Girls Choir (Estonia), Aurin Girls Choir (Hungary), Cairo Conservatory Choir and Zajel Choir (Egypt), Saint Rafqa Choir (Lebanon) and Epilogi Youth Choir (Cyprus), the festival aims to explore choral music as peace building tool and Euro-Mediterranean collaboration.
The first concert will take place at Rialto Theatre (27 SEP, 20:30), the second one at Molos of Limassol (28 SEP, 19:30) and the last one at Courion Ancient Amphitheatre on 29 SEP on 20:30.
As part of the festival, the attendees will have the opportunity to attend an exciting and comprehensive line up of workshops, lectures and artistic activities.

In parallel with concerts and workshops there will be organized Mediterranean Choral Forum with international experts in choral music taking a part. It will be held in “Pefkios Georgiades” hall of Cyprus University of Technology on 28 September from 9:30am.

Free entrance to all concerts and activities.
